ACE Professional Development Events

November 17, 2017, 11:30am-4pm SFU Harbour Centre, 515 West Hastings Street
This event was held in conjunction with the ACE 25th Anniversary, starting at 4pm on the 17th.
THEME: 25 years of Co-op: Managing the things that change and the things that don’t!
In 25 years of helping students reflect through work integrated learning experiences, many things about the way we do our jobs have changed, like going from putting job postings on bulletin boards, to putting job postings on the internet. But some things haven’t, like the need to advocate for our students and employers, and manage expectations and emotions through a stressful transition in a student’s life.

May 17, 2018 SFU Beedie School of Business, Segal Centre – 500 Granville Street, Vancouver
THEME: Expanding our Horizons: Building and Strengthening our Relationships
Back by popular demand is part 2 of a series on Emotional Intelligence, and strengthening our EQ to better serve our students and employers. Join in world-café style discussions to share best practices in how we are using our co-op preparatory curriculum or other resources to engage students in WIL and prepare them for the world of work.

Comments: The ACE PD Committee held our annual in-person planning meeting on August 11, 2017. The committee reviewed past events, including survey responses; planned for the upcoming November and May PD events; and discussed different formats and activities to explore in future. The PD Committee wishes to thank the ACE Board for their ongoing support of PD activities.
