Larissa Pepper is a Thompson Rivers University co-op student majoring in Human Resources through the Bachelor of Business Administration Program. According to Susan Forseille, former Chair of the TRU Career Education Department, “Larissa is one of those exceptional students with passion, conviction, enthusiasm…and a desire to positively influence those around her”. In 2013, Larissa completed two work terms: one as a Coordinator of the TRU Career Mentoring Program; and a second with Arrow Transportations in Human Resources. At Arrow, Larissa assisted with important operational initiatives, such as: policy development, process improvements, research projects, and employee relations. Larissa is also an avid co-op advocate, founding member of the TRU HR Club, the student ambassador for the local chapter of the BC Human Resources Management Association (HRMA), and a highly active community leader. As her final work term project, Larissa brought her education full-circle by teaching an upper level HR Staffing Issues class about Arrow’s recruitment strategies and reflects, “this was an immensely rewarding practical work term and reinforced all of my learning throughout my co-op experience…it made the theoretical learning more relevant and also benefited my peers in their own understanding the concepts.”
